Does Aetna Cover ABA Therapy?

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is an evidence -based therapy focused on improving socially significant behaviors such as communication, social skills, self-care, and reducing challenging behaviors. It is individualized to meet your child’s unique needs and goals.

You can begin by contacting our intake team. We’ll walk you through the process, including gathering insurance information, scheduling an assessment, and matching your child with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Shining Steps ABA provides services in multiple settings depending on your child’s needs, availability, and your preferences. Therapy may be conducted in-home, in school, or in the community to promote generalization of skills. Currently, Shining Steps is not yet providing in-clinic services. However, this will be considered in the near future.

Your child’s BCBA will create an individualized treatment plan and monitor progress through regular data collection and assessments. Parents/caregivers will receive updates during scheduled caregiver meetings and through ongoing collaboration with your clinical team.

Caregiver involvement is key to your child’s success. We ask caregivers to participate in training, attend regular team meetings, and support strategies at home. This is also required by insurance and is considered best practices. We’re here with you every step of the way to ensure your child’s success.
